These people are totally isolated from the entire world outside of the house’s walls. However, they are also being filmed by television cameras for the entire duration of their stays in the house. Each season of Big Brother lasts for about three months and includes less than 15 people. These contestants compete in various competitions to win prizes and cash. There are also evictions that occur with regularity.
The idea for Big Brother came from a Dutch production house and has caught on in various countries across the world. The name of the show is derived from a book, written by George Orwell, called 1984.
